Andre Young Jr, the son of hip-hop rapper/producer Dr. Dre, was found dead at his home in Woodland Hills on Saturday morning. He was only 20 years old. The case of death has not been determined yet. Autopsy was conductedon Monday.

Here’s the article from Usmagazine.com:

Young was discovered in his bed at around 10:30 a.m. Saturday by his mother, who attempted to wake him, the coroner’s spokesperson tells MTV News. Young was unresponsive, so she called paramedics, who responded to the scene. Efforts to revive him failed, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the coroner’s spokesperson, Young had spent the previous evening with friends. His mother told police that he’d returned home Saturday at around 5:30 a.m., and that she’d heard him in his bedroom. Police said they did not suspect foul play.

“Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre Young Jr,” his rep said in a statement to MTV on Tuesday. “Please respect his family’s grief and privacy at this time.”

We send our condolences to the family in their time of grief.

Is it in the water or what?!!!

It’s official……Jamaica has the fastest runners in the world. The Jamaican sprinters have definitely left their mark in Beijing at the 2008 Olympics. Not only have they DOMINATED the track, but they also broke a few records and made a couple of 1st-in-history statistics as well. If you haven’t been keeping up here’s the run down. We’ll help keep count of the stats….

It was Usain Bolt who started the Jamaican reign by winning the gold medal in the men’s 100m in world record time of 9.69 (stat #1). Not only was it a world record BUT it’s the first time in history a man has run the distance in under 9.7 seconds (stat #2).  Then it was the women’s turn. The gold was captured by Jamaica’s 21 year old Shelly Ann-Fraiser in a time of 10.78 seconds. Who won silver and bronze? Well her teammates of course! They tied for second giving Jamaica a complete SWEEP in the women’s 100m. It’s the first sweep of medals in a women’s 100 by any nation at any Olympics or world championships (stat#3). After never winning Olympic gold in the 100m, Jamaica now has two! (stat #4).

Now on to the men’s 200m. Who won the gold?….Come on now, who said lighting couldn’t strike twice?! It was Usain Bolt again in world record time of 19.30 seconds (stat#5). Bolt has won gold in both sprints, and is the only man ever to break the world record in both sprints in the same Olympics (stat#6). And of course the winner of the women’s 200m came from Jamaica as well. Veronica Campbell-Brown flashed past the competition and took the gold in 21.74 seconds. The bronze medal winner also from Jamaica. In all, Jamaica has capped the first sweep of all four men’s and women’s Olympic sprints in 20 years (stat#7).  Continuing the streak, Melanie Walker won gold in the women’s 400m hurdles and the men won the 4×100 meter relay.

Now those are truly some impressive stats! Congrats to Jamaica!

 Today’s Throwback group is MoKenStef!

MoKenStef was a R&B 90s girl group from Los Angeles. The three singers {Monifa, Kenya, and Stephanie} used the first syllable of each of their names to come up with the group name.  MoKenStef’s album, Azz Izz, debuted in 1995. Although it was their only album, the single “He’s Mine” was a huge hit. It reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100.  The second single, “Sex in the Rain”, was also a hit. It gave R&B fans a taste of their sexy and sultry sound.

I mean really, who could forget MoKenStef {Those of you who are old enough to know}?! They had every female singing and shouting “He’s Mine” to all of their arch-enemies in 1995. That really was the jam! Oh how I Miss the 90s.

Videos below….ENJOY!

He’s BAAAACCK! T.Pain (who basically has been on EVERYTHING lately) is back with his third studio album Thr33 Ringz.  If you watched the 2008 BET Awards you can clearly see the relationship between his performance on the show and the direction of this new album. T.Pain has yet to let me down musically so I expect BIG things from his new project. Originally “Snap Yo Fingers” was going to be the 1st single, but “Can’t Believe It” Ft. Lil Wayne leaked on the internet earlier than planned. With its positive feedback they decided to roll with it and gear it to radio. It’s a smooth track, not great but not wack either. Thr33 Ringz is set to release on September 30th, T.Pain’s birthday, and is produced entirely by himself. Until then we are waiting for the official video. Make sure to check out the single below…..

Listen to “Can’t Believe It”….. What you think? Hit or Miss?

Track & Fireld is my FAVORITE event to watch in the Olympics, and last night it was a show in the Men’s 100m dash! If you missed it you will have to catch Sports Center or a NBC re-play, cause they are not playing about copyright infringement over at NBC. In other words, every youtube video has been shut down so far.

Here’s a clip of the article from NBCOlympics.com:

BEIJING (AP) – Usain Bolt rewrote the record books again and captured his first Olympic gold medal Saturday, running the 100-meter dash in a stunning 9.69 seconds for a blowout win that could have been even worse.

It was no contest as the 21-year-old Jamaican took a huge lead halfway through the race, then held his arms out wide, turned his palms up, pounded his chest and started celebrating a good 10 strides before he reached the finish line.  He broke his own record, set in May in New York, by .03 second and became the first sprinter to set the world record in an Olympic final since Donovan Bailey ran 9.84 at the 1996 Atlanta Games.

Watching Bolt, who is 6-foot-5, run the quarter-finals in 9.9 seconds (with ease) was impressive. It was that race alone when I knew he would have the gold medal and claim the title as the “World’s Fastest Man.”

**UPDATED**

The race was replayed Sunday morning at 4am central time. If you STILL missed it here’s a link so you can catch a glimpse of Usain Bolt creating history.

With all the drama that is currently surrounding Lisa Raye McCoy and her husband, Turks and Caicos Premier Michael Misick, it was only a matter of time before the two parted ways. According to an article from People.com the two are seperating after two years of marriage.

From the article:

In a statement, Misick, 42, said, “I am announcing that I am separated from LisaRaye McCoy-Misick. I am committed to dissolving the marriage amicably. I believe that this is a private matter and will have no further comments. I hope that our privacy will be respected.”

The statement comes as the FBI is investigating Misick for assaulting a friend of McCoy’s earlier this year. Misick has taken to the Turks and Caicos airwaves to deny the charges.  In 2006, the couple married in an $1.5 million beachside wedding in front of stars such as Vivica A. Fox, DaBrat and Jasmine Guy. Reception music was provided by R&B duo Ashford and Simpson.

**UPDATED**

Just when you thought things would get better….THEY GET WORSE! Check out the news report: claims domestic violence and shows the women of Turks & Caicos upset at Lisa Raye!

I actually thought things would work out for this couple. I just hope they can end things peacefully and move on.

Wanita “D. Woods” Woodgette captures our Banging Body award for this week! D.Woods, a member of the popular girl group Danity Kane, is a force to be reconned with in the body department. She is definitely a pretty piece of eye candy and an Urban Connection 3T……Thick, Toned, and Tasty!! D. Woods’ frame is so on point that she has covered KING, the popular men’s magazine, twice!

All of Danity Kane’s members have nice bodies, but D.Woods clearly out shines the rest. We all know P.Diddy is very strict about working out and staying in shape, and we see D.Woods has gained nothing but positive results from it all. Looking good girl….we ain’t mad at ya!

Trey Songz is back with his 4th single, “Missing You” from his sophomore album Trey Day. The video for the single debuted on 106 & Park Thursday, August 14th. The unique thing to me is that the albumTrey Day dropped back in October of 2007, and here it is about to be October again and we are still seeing singles and videos from the same project! Can’t knock the hustle….they are truly milking the album for all that it’s worth!

Peep the video for “Missing You” and like always let us know what you think.

Solange is gearing up to release her sophomore album, Sol-Angel & the Hadley Street Dreams, which drops on August 26th. This time around Solange puts a twist on the current music scence by mixing blues and jazz with modern day hip-hop beats……and I must say I AM IMPRESSED with what I’ve heard so far!! The 1st single, “I Decided” (produced by the Neptunes), received lots of positive feedback, and has reached the top of the Billboard Hot Dance Singles Sales and the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Single Sales charts.

The 2nd single (my favorite), “Sandcastle Disco”,  is a very catchy upbeat track. If you know anything about Solange’s writing skills, you will clearly see why the track is titled as such. Just recently Solange shot the video for “Sandcastle Diso” (which she directed herself) and it is Fresh, Vibrant, & Colorful just like the artist herself.

Check out the new video below and let us know what you think!
